Product Description
A stunning and auspicious hexagonal jubako (tiered food box) handcrafted by the lacquerware workshop Kishikkou Tokeshi. This three-tier piece features a sophisticated "Pewter" (suzu) accents layered over a traditional fuki-urushi (wiped lacquer) finish. The calm, metallic luster of pewter provides a chic, cool-toned contrast to the warm wood grain, beautifully marrying classic Ryukyu craftsmanship with a modern geometric design.
The hexagonal shape is traditionally considered a symbol of longevity and good fortune in Japan. It makes an exquisite, contemporary centerpiece for special occasions, seasonal celebrations, or serving refined multi-course meals.
Important Note on Fuki-Urushi Lacquerware
This product is finished using the fuki-urushi technique, a process where layers of translucent lacquer are repeatedly applied and wiped away to accentuate the natural beauty of the wood grain beneath. Because of this natural process, the grain pattern, color depth, and texture of each piece will vary from the photos shown. Please embrace these natural variations as a hallmark of authentic, handmade woodenware.
